Career readiness is an integral part of our mission in the Emergency Response Pathway. With courses in EMR, Fire Science, and Emergency Medical Technician, we offer not only the knowledge but the opportunity to practice the skills used by industry professionals, which affords our students an advantage when entering the workforce.
We provide students with extensive career awareness opportunities, from guest speakers and volunteer opportunities, to our EMT Ride Along program with local ambulance companies.
We have a history of students receiving gainful employment right out of high school. Many of them attribute their success to the WBL opportunities during their time in our EMR Pathway.
"I've been working at Long Beach Memorial Emergency Department for almost a year now as an Emergency Department Technician. By taking the EMT course at Los Al High School, I was able to obtain the knowledge and skills necessary to apply for this job. With my EMT certification, I was able to get hired right out of high school and get a jumpstart in my career!"
