Welcome back to school! This September I was delighted to interview a member of this year’s senior class… Ruby Ellerin! Ruby’s style is fun, imaginative, and reflective of her personality. I loved getting to know her.
What are your favorite types of jewelry/accessories?
I love necklaces and earrings… I try to wear some everyday. I love funky bags. I wear a necklace made of watches almost every day and I also made a necklace with a little teapot charm that I’ve been wearing a lot. I prefer chunky jewelry and silver/colorful [jewelry].

What kinds of silhouettes do you like?
I like to mix up silhouettes but I usually go for baggy pants in the winter.
Pattern mixing (ex. polka dots and stripes): yes or no?
I love pattern mixing but I don’t own many patterned clothes.
What is one thing you think you would win a prestigious award for? Describe your dream red carpet/award-accepting outfit.
I have watched the Lorax movie more than anyone else on the planet so I’d probably win an award for that. I would definitely go for some Miu Miu or jpg [Jean Paul Gaultier].
Who is your favorite fashionista/fashion inspo?
I look to lots of celebrities: FKA Twigs, Hunter Schafer, Bella Hadid.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever worn in public/to school?
I used to dress up like Miranda Sings in public.

Are hair and makeup ever major factors in your outfits?
Hair and makeup usually come last and I opt for a natural makeup look, but I love a cranberry lip.
What is your favorite color palette for an outfit?
According to seasonal color theory I’m a winter, so I usually go for jewel tones.
Describe an outfit you’re proud of/one of your favorite outfits you’ve worn.
I have a few cool Custo Barcelona shirts that I pair with a long cargo skirt and that always works. I also love dresses.

What is your favorite social media app? Why?
My fave social media is def Pinterest and BeReal! I organize my life on Pinterest and I’m always ready for the BeReal!
If you could invite any three celebrities, dead or alive, to a dinner party, who would you pick?
I would invite Eva Hesse, Patti Smith, and Maggie Rogers

What are your go-to pizza toppings?
On pizza: mushrooms.
