Tired of Spending Hours Searching for a Good Watch on Netflix? Take a Look at this List

I know everyone’s always looking for new shows to watch on Netflix, but it can be so hard to find recommendations that you actually like. These are a few of my personal favorites, and I hope they become some of yours, too!

Jane the Virgin

I LOVE this show with my whole heart. The telenovela narration combined with the love triangle and the plot twists in every episode make for one of the most engaging shows I’ve ever watched.

Vampire Diaries

This is one of those shows where it’s so cringy that you can’t stop watching. It’s like a bad horror movie combined with a bad romcom, but somehow it's still a really addictive show to watch.

You

Aside from inspiring the Joe meme on the internet, this show is iconic for a lot of reasons. The main characters are very problematic, but the drama they stir up is SO worth watching. The later seasons are actually better than the first, and they get kind of deep about society as a whole. This show is my absolute favorite as of late.

The Good Place

This show definitely peaked with the first season, but the loveable characters (Kristen Bell <3) make the complex topic of death and the afterlife really entertaining. (PS. the plot twist a couple episodes in is the best part)

America’s Next Top Model

These types of competition shows are so entertaining, mostly because they feature some of the meanest people in the WORLD-- the drama at the house, and photo challenges, and the trip to a foreign country at the end of each season make this series really hard to stop watching.

The Great British Baking Show

This is one of those shows you have on in the background while you do other things. It’s basically the opposite of America’s Next Top Model, with really lovely British people and a feel-good vibe. It’s my comfort show!

New Girl

This show is feel-good, funny, and the perfect lighthearted thing to watch. It’s probably the most binge-worthy show on my list, and the one show that ALL my friends have seen and loved.

Never Have I Ever

I recommend this show completely ironically, because a lot like Vampire Diaries, it's addictive in the way where you can’t stop watching even when something cringe-worthy happens… which is fairly often.

Ginny & Georgia

This show is pretty heavy: it’s quite dramatic and has a few scenes that definitely need a trigger warning -- the characters are interesting enough to keep the audience engaged and the show is full of entertaining plot twists, but I wouldn’t recommend watching too many episodes a time.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Ellie Kemper is Kimmy Schmidt in this series, and she is the PERFECT choice -- she’s bubbly, funny, and everything you want in a main character. The show is a lot like New Girl, with short but iconic episodes, and has enough seasons to get really invested.

Sex Education

This show remains one of my favorites in the whole world-- it was hard to top the first season, but the second and third were pretty amazing. Some of the characters are a little stereotypical, but they’re all loveable and so entertaining to watch-- they combine hilarity with good life lessons and sweet moments to make (in my opinion) one of the best shows on Netflix.
