A Step-by-Step Guide to Study like a Teenager!

  1. The first step is to really wait until the last minute. Think about it this way: if you start studying right before the test then it will stay nice and fresh in your mind. Who cares if your teacher told you to study geography two weeks before that big unit test? The night before is a much better time.

  1. Secondly, put on some music. And no, I don’t mean the cool lofi beat type music, I mean make a playlist of all of your favorites, the ones that make you turn into a professional backup dancer for Pitbull or the ones that make you want to perform your debut world tour. What better way to get you to focus?

  1. Never, ever put your phone on silent! Yes, some may argue that all distractions should be removed, but straight studying is not at all productive. What if you need to take a break? Every time you get a text from a friend or a comment on a post, think about it as the universe telling you to take a short study break, that is unless you get swept up in the endless cycle of swipe and like.

  1. Next, put your favorite show on in the background. This is a good chance to catch up on the new episodes while also being productive!

  1. Grab a snack and a drink, and while you're at it just grab a whole meal. Again, multi-tasking! Just remember to not get cheeto puff powder all over your geometry study guide.

  1. Great, now it’s time to actually study! And listen to music, check your phone, eat, and watch tv!
