Of the many sports Needham High School has to offer, there are definitely some more interesting to watch than others (sorry, golf). Heading the Interesting Sports category is Diving. Divers somehow manage to do gymnastics moves while flipping through the air, and they jump from SO high! Needless to day, our athlete of the month for January is diver Cat Bryan. Bryan, class of 2023, is a springboard and platform diver, who competes on both the Varsity NHS Swim & Dive team as well as that of Charles River Diving. This year marks her first year competing for the high school, but already she’s made a name for herself with her impressive diving abilities. Per usual, we’ve asked our Athlete of the Month some questions so that the school can get to know her better, and we have some videos to look at her skills!

What is your pet peeve? Loud tapping

What is your favorite burrito place? Honestly, I don’t like burritos

What is the worst food you’ve ever eaten? Bananas

Cafe Fresh or Bagels Best? Cafe Fresh but only because of their coffee

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Definitely ice cream

What do you love about your team? The community and knowing that you have people that support and understand you and the skills you’re trying to learn

How has diving helped you? Diving has allowed me to continue doing sports despite stress fractures in my back. It has taught me to just do your best and put 100% effort into things.
