Global Cafe
October 6, 2022
My Intro to GCP class held a Global Cafe lunch where everyone in our class brought in food that is either culturaly important to them or sustainable. I chose to bring in plant based nuggets, a vegan alternative to chicken nuggets, because I have been vegitarian since I was in 5th grade and wanted to show other class members that it is easy to enjoy the same foods other do but in a more sustainable way.

Food Drive- June 11, 2023
One of the main focuses of my service learning project was food insecurity. Something I became very passionate about in junior year is working tp collect goods to donate to the Holliston Food Pantry. On Sunday June 11th, I teamed up with two girls from my service learning group to collect goods. We utalized my friend Sammy's neighborhood facebook group to spread the word that we would be going around collecting goods for the holliston food pantry. We instructed people to leave goods in a bag by their front door and we would come pick them up. In total we were able to collect 50 goods from this food drive.

Cancun July 2023
The most impactful experience from this trip was snorkeling through the Mesoamerican Barrior Reef. I was so moved by the beauty of this reef and the animals I was able to see. On this exersion I was able to meet a woman who was very impactful. She was a bit older than me, mid 20s, but she was so well informed about the reef and the animals that lived their. She told me her story and why she decided to move to mexico at such a young age and it was so inspiring. Visiting coral reefs is always such a moving experience for me, it inspires me to continue my activism because coral reefs like the Mesoamerican barrior reef are habbitats I hope to explore the rest of my life.
On this trip I was also able to visit many different Cenotes. A cenote is a naturally occurring pit, or sinkhole, created when limestone bedrock collapses, exposing groundwater. The phrase first appeared on the Yucatán Peninsula of Mexico, where the ancient Maya frequently used cenotes as water sources. The Cenotes were absolutley beautiful to explore, I hope to one day be able to return and visit them again.

Think Fast Presentation 4/22/24
On Monday April 22nd, an organisation called Think Fast came to Holliston High School and did a presentation on drug and alchol abuse. The presentation was very imformative. I feel as if the organisation did a great job at keep the audience enganged while still relaying important imformation.
