Panel Discussion

Ms Joelle studied Architecture in NUS after her journey in SA's Commerce Stream. She has watched over projects like Somerset 313, Paya Lebar Quarters (PLQ), J.E.M and more. Her open attitude helped her to get to where she is today. She also gave advice on how to cope with the ever-changing work force. By changing one variable at a time, this would help to make it easier to ease into the new responsibilities and roles. Relationships matter and we should always be open to learn. Mentorship is the exchange of values.

Qualities we should have:

  • A spirit of excellence

  • Consistency

  • Having a sense of curiosity

  • Be willing to learn

  • Take offence less lightly

  • Reputation, building bridges, past networks

  • A firm handshake!!

Ms Isabel studied Business in SMU after graduating from SA. After learning the basics of business and economics, she was inspired to start An Acai Affair and Sweet Cheeks was because of her desire to provide Singaporeans with affordable and accessible access to Acai Bowls, which were quite expensive back then.

Reflections

  1. What are your thoughts after hearing from the 2 speakers?

    • It is completely okay to not know what I want to do at 17 or 18.

    • Start cultivating good habits now (body language, attitude)

  1. What is your biggest takeaway from what they have shared?

    • Be willing to learn, be HUMBLE!
