Besides being an aspiring educator, another part of my identity is my love of creating artwork. I come from two artistic parents, so growing up, creativity was highly encouraged. My art takes form in drawing, photography, and quilling (Quilling is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs.)
My artistic ability is the reason why I minored in Studio Art at Dominican University of California. As a part of my minor, I was assigned to create what is called my "signature work". Signature work means to create art that symbolizes who you are as an artist and an individual. For this project, I decided to create a large-scale quilled garden. I am using my love of flowers, nature, and the outdoors as an inspiration for this piece. This piece will represent the beauty and delicacy of nature. I will expand on work that I have done before into an even more intricate and larger piece.
This is the product after 7 months of hard work and dedication!
