Did you know that DU offers tutoring in multiple subjects for free? Tutor are students at DU who have excelled academically and have been referred by their professors. Some tutors are also professionals who have been hired by the school. All of the tutors at DU are encouraging, knowledgeable and genuinely care about the success of the students they work with. When supporting someone with difficulties, the tutoring center is an excellent resource to refer someone too if the academic area they need help with is out of your area of expertise! One thing you can do to help is to help someone in need fill out a tutoring request form.

Dominican Occupational Therapy (OT) does not actually fall under the umbrella of support services, but the OT department could be a helpful resource if you are supporting students with disabilities. Occupational therapists (OTs) are uniquely trained to look holistically at a person, their environment, and the activity or task they need to accomplish. OTs help people live life to the fullest and accomplish their goals. While they usually specialize in working with specific populations, OTs are first trained generally to work with people across the lifespan. OT students and professors would be more than happy to help if you needed extra help finding creative ways to support a student you are working with.
