I had studied Frederico Garcia Lorca's poems in high school and again during this course, thus making my experience of visiting his summer house more impactful. Granada brought my spanish literature courses alive with this and the Alhambra. I had studied poems about both and seeing them in real life was so powerful and meaningful. It gave more purpose, importance and meaning to having spent 18 years studying Spanish. It was worth it since I am fully fluent and comfortable speaking spanish.
The details of the Moors and vibrant colors really made La Alhambra beautiful. The place is magical and truly makes to take a step back into reflection. The detailing is mesmerizing and truly a work of art. This also shows that the mixture of cultures can be beautiful and be peaceful.
