I made this portrait with regular led pencils. This project was so much fun to do, it was really cool to find the shadows and light spots and bring those to life. For me, the most difficult part of this project was the hair, it was hard to make it look real. Through this portrait I realized that you have to pay attention to the little details to make the big picture.
This painting was very difficult for me, I never got the perfect look. The ravioli was hard to get the shading right and the sauce was difficult because I never got the right color. I chose to do ravioli because it is my favorite food. Although I am not too pleased with the outcome of this project, it was a lot of fun to do.
I chose to do a scratch art picture of my sisters dog, who had passed away, Kisses. Kisses was the best dog anyone could have, he loved everyone he met unconditionally. He stole our food that we left at his level, he gave kisses when you didn't want them, and he was always there for you when you were sad. At first it didn't look like him, and I really wanted to show who he truly is, so I restarted this project about halfway in. There was a period of time that I just didn't work on it, I was scared I would mess it up again. Then one day I just sat down and finished it, I was so happy to see what I had done. It is truly amazing what a person can do when they have the right inspiration, and mine was Kisses.
I absolutely loved every second of this project. It was relaxing to make the right shadows and look with watercolor. I chose to do my old house in Virginia for this project. This house was when I had the best time of my life, I met my best friend here, I was outside 24/7, and I was just living my childhood to the fullest.
