INDIA
Prereflection- We are going to draw kids from orphanages all throughout India and we are doing it so they do not feel alone in the world while spreading God's love through Art. I feel excited about this assignment and hopefully being able to showcase my artistic abilities in the best way to promote the love of God through this project.
The most important aspect of this portrait is the fact that the kid of who this painting is going to enjoys my depiction of them in a more expressionist approach.
This activity can be considered worship because it is loving the image of God onto others because it is putting his image of his creation on paper in a beautiful way.
I will know I was successful if the kid who this goes to is content with my efforts of drawing them and also I am already partially successful for attempting out of love it in God's eyes.
After weeks of practice I thought that my pencil and color pencils came out mediocre. Then I did slightly better on the oil pastel but he paper was harder to blend on so. Even though, my practice papers are not very good I have decided to give oil pastel a try for my final art project. Knowing where the trace lines were and where the color shifts was hard for me to decipher and so that made the other projects harder for me.
Beauty Creating: This project allowed me to be creative in the way of creating beautiful art in the image of one of God's children. With the combination of everyone's drawing it becomes a wondrous work of art done to be kind.
The process I went through while making this drawing was mixed emotions because while it was fun and satisfying there were times when my project was not looking right. The nose and skin color seems a bit off but with the expressionistic style I was going for it looks relatively good. Overall, I was not confident in my ability to do this at first but it came out better than I thought it would.
When the child sees this portrait I hope that she feels seen and beautiful and if she doesn't I hope that she realizes that it is just a drawing. Overall, I hope she takes it back to the orphanage and is proud to show others her portrait. If I could tell her something I would say continue story writing it is very cool and unique and to keep daydreaming about the world in a optimistic hope by not letting anyone damage your spirits.
