Editor in Chief
Waylon is a senior at Hall and took Honors Spanish IV and AP Chinese. He really enjoys language in general! In addition to Gladiatores, he is the founder of the Cooking Club, co-leader of Empty Bowls, and president of ACC. Outside of clubs, he is also a member of TAB (Teen Advisory Board at the public libraries) and really enjoys playing tennis. He is a massive Player Unknowns Battlegrounds (PUBG) player and often plays whenever he has time. Waylon wishes to excel in multiple languages in the future.

Ian is a senior and is currently taking AP Spanish. He enjoys learning about the different cultures around the world and the diversity of language throughout the world. During his free time he is a leader of Empty Bowls Club and member of Astronomy Club and Choir! He is overjoyed to be participating and writing in the journal.

Richard is currently a junior at Hall. He is currently taking Honors Spanish V and also has experience in Chinese having taken the AP Chinese exam. He is also an avid member of the Debate Team, Model UN Club, and Student Government. In terms of sports he enjoys playing tennis, and in his free time he also enjoys playing the trombone (especially in a jazz context). He hopes to share his love of languages with other individuals who are willing to explore the culture and languages of other countries!

Karen is a junior and is currently taking Spanish V. She is so athletic and does running and tennis, so if you ever want a personal trainer fluent in Spanish, reach out! Some of her hobbies include eating, sleeping, and speaking Spanish! Lol🤣 If you ever need help with ANYTHING Spanish, Karen is da gorl.

Alina is a junior who currently takes Spanish V. She likes to make vlogs with her friend Karen, sometimes incorporating Spanish in the videos. She also likes to play the drums in a cover band! Contact her if you ever need a drummer and she will say yes (not really)!!!! Gracias 🇪🇸
Chinese and Spanish Editor
Lolo is a sophomore at Hall and is taking both AP Chinese and Honors Spanish IV. She enjoys learning new vocabulary, and she has a 1000+ day Duolingo streak. She has graduated from a Chinese language school after 8-9 years of attending, and she has also been their 7th grade class TA. She loves reading, playing video games, and playing tennis. Lolo's a member of the Teen Advisory Board at the WH public library, and besides Gladiatores, she is also in Empty Bowls, Asian Cultural Club, and Psychology Club. She leads Forensic Science Club as well.

Ber is a junior and is currently taking Honors Chinese 4. He loves learning and experiencing other cultures which is why he is a part of this club. They are also part of Math Team and a co-founder in engineering club! They are excited to continue working as an Editor in Gladiatores over the next few years.
Hadley Smith
Spanish Editor
Hadley is a junior and taking Spanish V alongside Karen, and has decided to expand their essay/poetry skills into another language. Although they're pretty busy running for Hall's track team, testing the limit on the number of books you can check out at the library, discovering the secrets of music theory, and trying to sparse out her grandmother's Gaelic, Hadley finds themselves interested in exploring the architecture and literature of the Spanish-speaking world. Whether it's Spanish, Shakespeare or being a tour guide through la Sagrada Familia, they're excited to start their path in being an info center in this newspaper.
Addy Altamirano
Spanish Editor
Addy is a freshman who is taking Spanish IV this year. Addy loves talking to people in Spanish as well as helping others who are learning. As a student, she wants to extend her knowledge, and even though she knows how to fluently speak Spanish, she wants to improve in her writing. Hopefully one day she will go on a path to becoming a TA! Addy is very committed to school loves helping people and the ones around her. She is part of the teenage student ambassador prevention council of West Hartford. Her mission is to assist teens and their problems! Addy is a very passionate writer, especially when she writes about her culture and her background! She hopes to share some of this in this wonderful newspaper!
American Sign Language Editor
Rachel is a senior at Hall and has completed all of the ASL courses at Hall. She is currently taking AP Chinese. She enjoys learning about languages and linguistics, and is participating in the North American Computational Linguistics competition at Yale for fourth year this year. Besides languages, Rachel also likes reading, camping, and ceramics. Besides this, she is also a member of the Hall Robotics Team and tennis team. She is so excited to participate in the journal this year!

Jeremy is a freshman and is taking Latin I. He is interested in learning more about Latin and finds the culture interesting. Jeremy's interests include tennis, singing, piano, reading and Grumio. He enjoys classes such as drawing, ELA and, obviously, Latin. He is exited to contribute to the magazine!

Colin is a sophomore at Hall who is taking Honors Spanish IV. He enjoys learning about different cultures, and understanding the customs and cuisine different ones have to offer. In his free time, he enjoys astronomy, playing piano, learning about different cultures and languages.

Daniel is a sophomore at Hall at is currently enrolled in French IV. He loves learning about different languages and cultures, along with listening/playing music. During his free time, Daniel loves reading fantasy books or playing tennis, and has traveled to nearly every continent.
Wesley Chen
Latin Editor
Wesley is a freshman at Hall and is currently taking Latin I. He is interested in learning more about Roman Mythology and how it is integrated into the ancient culture. Other than Gladiatores, he participates in other clubs and activities such as Debate, NAHS, AAC, and is planning to train for the school's Track team. Outside of school, he enjoys folding origami and occasional sketching. He is thrilled to be able to write for the magazine!
