Procedures of Teaching
The kindergarten learning process begins with class preparation, where children write their full names in a pocketbook to develop motor skills and letter recognition. Opening activities include prayer, singing the national anthem, and reciting the pledge.
Core activities involve reviewing past lessons, learning new literacy topics, listening to stories, and completing work periods, with a snack break in between. Afterward, numeracy lessons cover number recognition, counting, matching numbers with objects, and practicing numbers in Tagalog.
Time management and organizing activities
The time management for kindergarten is allocated for 3 hours. Learning activities take place from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM for the morning session and from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM for the afternoon session.
Classroom Management
In teaching kindergarten children, it is essential for educators to create a learning process that is enjoyable and meaningful, catering to each child's unique skills and creative ideas. In managing the classroom, I prioritize providing space for children to explore knowledge independently and encourage their curiosity about their surroundings actively alongside their peers.
Problem Solving
During the teaching process, challenges arise in disciplining and guiding children. To address this, techniques like using the phrase "Eyes on me" with the response "Eyes on you" help refocus the class. Additionally, children are asked to repeatedly write their full names on a notebook page to fill idle time, improve hand-eye coordination, and receive feedback from the teacher.
