Amber is from St. Paul, Minnesota and attended Columbia University for her B.S. in environmental engineering. After graduating in 2021, she spent her two gap years working as a legal advocate for survivors of violent crime and chief clinical assistant at a fertility clinic. She has also spent the past three years as a rape crises counselor working with survivors in the emergency department. In her free time, she enjoys running, doing crosswords, and spending time with her cat. At NYMC, Amber is the founder of the local MagicAid chapter, an organization that provides pediatric patients with magic therapy. She is passionate about patient care and advocacy, and hopes to bridge the gap between the clinical and emotional components of medical care in her future practice. Amber is honored to serve as a Student Senator and advocate for her peers. She hopes to inspire kindness and joy in those around her.

Dorothy is originally from Great Neck, New York. She graduated from Hunter College’s Macaulay Honors College with a B.A. in Biochemistry and a minor in Asian American Studies. During her time at Hunter, she conducted research on microbes, colorectal cancer, and homelessness. She was also deeply involved in STEM mentorship, volunteered in the emergency department, and competed on the Hunter Cross Country team. Before medical school, Dorothy spent her gap year as a research associate at ICON plc, a global clinical research organization. At New York Medical College, she is an active member of the Radiology Interest Group, the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA), the New York State Radiological Society, and social media chair of the student senate. Outside of academics, Dorothy enjoys running, weightlifting, baking, and challenging friends to games of Connect 4 (which she almost always wins). Jared is from Huntington Beach, California and attended UC Davis, where he graduated with a degree in Biological Sciences. At UC Davis, Jared played for the D1 baseball program, serving as team captain and team representative for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. In his two years post graduation, Jared worked as a Medical Scribe/Technician for an Ophthalmology clinic and interned with Healthcare in Action, a street medicine organization that brought healthcare and social services to patients experiencing homelessness. At NYMC, Jared is the former president of the Orthopedic Surgery Interest Group and held leadership positions with the Homeless Outreach and Medical Education program, Flag Football Club and Golf Club. In his free time, he enjoys working out, playing pick-up sports, golfing, playing fantasy football, and spending time with family and friends. Jared is extremely grateful to be a part of the Student Senate again this year and will work hard to advocate for his fellow classmates and improve the community at NYMC. He is excited to take on the role of Vice President to continue building upon the student experience that we have at NYMC.

Joey is an M3 at NYMC in his first year on the student senate. In his time on campus, he’s become involved with three clubs that he’s passionate about: the Wellness Club, Medical Education Society, and Save a Child’s Heart.  Joey’s a local guy from White Plains, and has always loved New York. For fun, he likes to try new foods in the city, and watch or play just about any sport. He is looking forward to a great year in Senate advocating for his classmates!

Nadia was born and raised here in NY and is a first generation American whose parents are from Argentina. She graduated from The Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford with a degree in Classical Vocal Performance. Before completing college she began working for a tech-startup called Bright Line Eating that helps people who struggle with food addiction. She remains very involved with the research arm of their organization. Shortly after college, she went on to study massage therapy at the Finger Lakes School of Massage which inspired her to pivot toward a career in medicine. She served as the treasurer of the Senate during the 2024-2025 school year. She also holds leadership positions in the Latino Medical Student Association as well as the Arrhythmias a cappella group at NYMC. Nadia is grateful to be a part of the Student Senate to advocate for her class and contribute to the flourishing NYMC community.

Atikul was born and raised in Queens, New York. He graduated from Stony Brook University with a biochemistry major in 2022. He has always been drawn to understanding how healthcare impacts people on a personal level. His path to medicine took shape during his college years, where he balanced pre-med studies with community outreach and mentorship roles. Atikul found that supporting fellow students, whether through facilitating student discussion as a teaching assistant or by organizing wellness events through his non-profit, was just as rewarding as his academic achievements. Now, as an M2 Senator at New York Medical College, he continues to advocate for his classmates and contribute to a positive, supportive learning environment. When he's not focused on school, Atikul enjoys following the Knicks, exploring new restaurants, and thrifting for unique finds that bring out his creative side.

Haley was born and raised just outside of Los Angeles, California. She graduated from Northwestern University in 2023 with a degree in Neuroscience. Following college, she worked as an Orthopedic Surgery scribe and research assistant, focusing on non-surgical treatments for osteoarthritis and meniscus repair recovery strategies. Aside from being a senator, Haley serves as a Mentorship Chair of the American Medical Women’s Association at NYMC as well as captain of her flag football team! In her free time, Haley enjoys pilates, reading, and watching reality television. This is her first year as a senator and she is excited to make a difference!

Ryan is originally from Orlando, Florida, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Professional Biology from the University of Florida, along with a graduate certificate in Medical Pharmacology & Therapeutics. Before embarking on his journey to medical school, he gained diverse experience in healthcare, working as a patient care assistant at UF Shands Health Cancer Hospital, a medical scribe for a family medicine doctor, and a research assistant at Weill Cornell Medicine in the Program for the Care and Study of the Aging Heart. Additionally, he shared his passion for fitness as a personal trainer at Equinox.

At New York Medical College, Ryan is honored to serve as a student senator while also holding leadership roles in the Orthopedic Surgery Interest Group, the Student National Medical Association (SNMA), and the Weightlifting Club. In his free time, he enjoys weightlifting, running, biking, swimming, and exploring the outdoors with friends and family. Ryan is dedicated to advocating for his peers and creating opportunities for students to grow into compassionate, skilled physicians.

Kathryn was born and raised in Queens, New York. She graduated from New York University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, where she conducted research on bias development in children. During her two gap years, Kathryn worked as a clinical research coordinator at the NYU Langone Vaccine Center, where she maintained several vaccine and HIV treatment clinical trials. She also served as the community engagement coordinator for the Center, organizing community advisory board meetings and community-based events. These experiences have heavily encouraged Kathryn's interest in public health, infectious diseases, and clinical research! In her free time, she enjoys hiking, sitting in the sun, and reading. At NYMC, Kathryn hopes to apply her experiences in community advocacy and event organization to make the M1 experience as fun as possible!  

Kevin grew up in Austin, Texas, and graduated from the University of Texas with degrees in Neuroscience and Government. While at UT, he co-found a pre-med club, worked as a patient care technician, was a member of the Texas Rock Climbing Club Team, and enjoyed studying the intersection between policy and healthcare. After college, Kevin completed an M.S. in Accelerated Interdisciplinary Biomedical Sciences at NYMC. As a first-year medical student, he is the secretary for the Climbing Club and is involved in mentoring master’s students. While on Senate, Kevin aims to advocate for his class and make NYMC feel like home for everyone. In his free time, he enjoys pickleball, surfing, skiing, and cooking.
