Mountain biking has always been my biggest passion, and this year it has been more important to me than ever. I love riding for many reasons, but mainly because it combines all my favorite things: nature, family and friends, and exploring. I’ve been mountain biking with my dad since I was around 8, and riding with him will always be my fondest memories. During this school year, I’ve ridden so much more than I have ever. I ride before school, after school, and as much as I can. I also joined the AWHS MTB team for the first time and loved it. Weekly rides with friends and my dad as a coach always had me pumped all day during school to ride after school. Camping out the day before the races and spending all day on a bike without my phone always was always a great experience. I feel that mountain biking has also made me more grateful and appreciative this year; spending so much time in nature by myself has given me so much time to think about how lucky I am to live in such a nice place, have so many opportunities, and have such supportive people around me.
10th Grade Update
This year, I've taken mountain biking a lot more seriously. While I enjoy riding more than ever, and am on my bike twice as much compared to last year, my focouses have shifted greatly. I now am enjoying training for certain races even more than just riding for fun. I am still very excited for my off season, and I plan to do a lot of riding simply because I will have the time to do so.
Señor Jose
His class was my favorite part of my entire 9th-grade year, and I appreciate Jose because of how exciting, rewarding, and engaging his Spanish class is. Every time I struggled with my school work or was just having a bad week, coming to Jose's class cheered me up every time and was always the highlight of my week. Jose is one of the kindest and funniest people I've ever met, and I'm sad to have to leave his class for sophomore year, but I'm super excited to hopefully have him for Spanish 5-6 in my junior year.
(I requested him for 5-6 as a sophmore and am exicted to be back in his class)
My Dad
My dad has always been a massive role model for me, and this year, I appreciated him more than ever. He is an amazing and strong mounting biking coach for the Archie team who advocated for working as hard as you could when it came to racing. If I were ever in a bad mood, being around him would always cheer me up with his funny, sarcastic, and sweet personality. He goes out of his way to help me so much and works hard to provide for me. I love spending time with my dad, and some of my favorite memories from the past year are mountain biking with him. I’ll forever appreciate the support he gives me.

Friends
I love spending time with friends, and being in most of my classes with my friend Milo, has always been a blast. Being in Spanish with Señor Jose and Milo is the funniest combination. "Discount Double Check" is Milo's nickname. Another friend who I'm grateful to have this year is my friend Axel. Axel is also a mountain biker; riding him on the team always brought me joy. Axel is also a brilliant kid and is always willing to help. Another friend that I'm also appreciative of is Jaden. Jaden is the kindest and funniest kid ever. Playing video games with him is probably my favorite thing to do with him, and I often end up spending hours laughing with him.
10th Grade
My dad is still who I look up to most, and I couldn't be more grateful for everything he does and how he helps me through everything. He always gives me his full support, whether it be helping with school work or helping me train for racing. I wouldn't be anywhere without his help.

My friends haven't changed a lot throughout the past year, but I have made a lot more, especially with older kids who I learn a lot from. And the way I interact with my friends is majorly the same as well, and we simply always just have a good time and don't have any regards for anything else.
