FOAM MODELING
My next step is to make a foam modeling by using my design ideas. We chose between those 12 designs (Digital, paper). I chose in my digital designs. And then we pick one of square foam and draw the same front designs on the paper. That foam looks very thick and hard but, actually it's really weak. When I touch and hit, it sounds like styrofoam. It sounds like very cheerful.
When I finished to draw my final design ideas on paper. I have to choose one of three papers. Acutally, those are same but, I chose the best one. Put the paper which I chose on the top of foam. I used glue to stick it but, it was really hard. When I put glue on the foam. It makes paper falling, but if I put glue on paper and stick on the foam. It will be stick on. I want to know how it's work.
If I finished to stick paper on the top of foam. I used this machine to cut foam. It's really amazing! There is mini box that I can controll the temperature of that machine and there is very thin string to cut foam. I learned blue foam has perfect temperature at 11 degree celcius and white foam has perfect temperature at 9 degree celcius. When I was first time to cut foam by using this machine. I was really hard for me. Foam cut very smoothly, so if I crooked a little bit. It just go everywhere. Can you see the middle of my foam modeling. I have to deep and go up. The deep part was really hard. When I was moving in there. It just melt all of near that. It is hardest one that I did in this foam modeling part.
If I finished to put the paper one foam. I have to cut 3 pieces of foam. They will front, middle and back layers. Actually, my front of design has to cut a little bit. I realized later. Can you see my 3 layers of foam. They have like rough surfaces. I think I have to make more smoothly.
I have to put paper on the front and back only. Because I have to decide where the coil holder goes. It's normally in the middle and then I should make correct size of coil holder in the middle layer. There is also becareful thing. If I already put paper on the foam and cut the foam. The paper can not cut it. So, if I want to make foam more smootly. I have to take out paper then.
Let's see my foam modeling. They have more smooth surfaces and the middle layer has a big size for coil holder. I also cut the part of first layer. It was my originally ideas but, I forgot then I cut it now. (I think the not cut version is more better the middle layer has very high things then it looks a little weird for me.
The next step is to make the holes. Before I took out the paper. I used the thin wood stick to makes holes. Then if I took out the paper, I have to make holes again. The holes are for the details for resin and woods. I also have to make the hole for fasten mosquito coil. This is my final figure of foam modeling.
This is our last step of the foam modeling, I used very hard glue to stick them on together. I also used the toothpick to fasten on them. In my picture, there is toothpick in my foam modeling. That is my where that mosquito coil fasten on my foam.
