I havent done Primary research becuase I werent able to finish the Primary research in time.

Inspiration board
My finished work (initial designs). I changed the Apple's leaf from red and pink to dark green and light green.
My favorite design- Apple, because it's basic and simple and it's looks comfortable to hold- the edges aren't sharp.
The cross between three color
( flower ).
detailed sticker lines ( snake )
Tiny apple leaf
( apple )
Difference between dark and light shades
( leaf )
what i need to do:
Decide if I want the tiny leaves on the apple design or not.
Decide if I will actually buy the lanyard for the Micro:Bit design.
brush tools
Flicks
Rough spencil 2
Technical pen
Soft clean air
Flicks: Good for The coloring/rendering because the texture looks like the spray paints we're going to use.
Rough Spencil 2: Good for sketching out blue lines.
Technical pen: Looks like a copy of a felt tip pen but on the ipad, that's why it's good for outlining the shape.
Soft clean air: Awesome for shadows and highlights.
First 4 designs - FINISH!
This is a screenshot of 4 of my finished design + all the layers.
My first designs were a vivid red apple, an emerald green leaf, a cold flower, and a snake.
Cont ⤵️
Lastly I add shadows underneath the Mirco:Bit holder so that it looks even more realistic like it's not just apiece of paper although it's really hard to see.
Overall I'm really happy with my work mostly because that the colors worked out quite well- the colors are vivid and really vibrant.
Changing ( making my second design )
What I changed:
Colors
I put stickers on designs
more vibrant colors
Darker and warmer colors makes it look like a new leaf and I added white sticker stripes to make it look like a present.
Brighter shade of green I also added red stickers so that it looks like scales on the side of the snake's head.
I changed from vibrant red to warm pink and added a huge light pink stripe across.
The color orange mimics the autumn leaves and the sticker in the middle makes the leaf looks like a coffee seed.
Layers
Overall work (design 2)
2nd design- FINNISHED!
What i like about my 2nd design:
colors
shapes
thinner lines than before!
and the design!
What i could've improve:
highlights and shadows
the lines/shapes could've been less wonky
Overall i think it looks like the way i wanted it___
Autumn leaves Apple
Leaf frozen flower snake
warm pink apple non hostile snake new present
Closed ipad dark bush house
Ipad pink bush
Salmon plain house
All my designs-
The big pictures are my favorite ones..
Blue line

Accidental overlay. The decoration isn't supposed to have random lines.
The star isn't actually connected to the tree.
I tried making it look like there's a fish inside the chrismas tree.
The Lightbox ☀︎
The lightbox is where I take photos of my Micro:bit holder. The lightbox allows me to take photos of the object in a white background so that I am able to blend it with a white background. The white background are useful in slides when presenting something with pictures, procreate/ picollage to make a photo and needing to use a photo with a clean white background, or here - in google sites only if your background is white.
Example:
Micro:bit development
overall:
My first design was an apple then i add ears and paintings that will make my design look more techy.
design:
I decided to change the apple because i thinks it looks a bit too basic and a bit boring.
colors:
I've also changed the colors- red looks a bit too vibrant and it doesn't matches my new design.
I cannot be sure that I am going to stick with this design until it's time for manufacturing...
The colors were necessary because if I didn't know what the colors would be in my design it will cause an effect when choosing the spray paint (color) at the spray booth.
I put the original design and the new design near each other so that we can see the difference between the two designs, colors, shape, and the design it's self of course. (before and after).
My title looks pretty good along with the cat theme but maybe I could've made the title more interesting by changing the name 'Micro:bit development' it's not captivating.
Blue pencil sketching on template
Black fine lining
Coloring in
Applying shadows
Adding in Title and top, front, 3D view ( texts ), and removing the template.
Finish with background and more shadows
For the colors i choose blue, pink, green, yellow, dark blue, and dark pink the colors are all pale so it looks pretty grey-ish.
The shadows make my design looks complete and is like a final touch to my 3D drawing because of it makes it look like it's standing out.
I really like this part of the letter N in the title because it kind of makes the term - FINAL DESIGN look cuter and more interesting.
Needed to improve (:)
I think I could've improved the shadows a little bit more - it looks quite unrealistic and more like 2D. I also think I can make my line (when fine lining) thinner whilst I'm fine lining in procreate so that it looks like an actual 3D drawing and that it is not drawn on a piece of paper with a thick black marker, Mr Douglas mentioned it to me quite often about fine lining...
First steps ;)
First we trace the Micro bit holder on the wood with a sharp pencil. Then drill holes inside the traced Micro:bit holder, after that we use the files to file until it's touching the edge.
This is the drilling machine. it's used for drilling holes in wood. Like the picture at the top - i've drilled holes in the wood to make it easier to file the shape.
Files-
I use the big file for extended / bigger spaces, and the smaller files in narrow / small. The shape I need to file has more flat sides so I mostly use the flat surface files.
When we can no longer file because it is touching the edge of the pencil line - we have to check if the micro bit holder fits perfectly and is hard to fall off. Once we can fit the real Micro:bit holder in - then we file a bit more because when we spray paint the color later on it'll add more and more layers inside the hole which will make the micro bit holder unable to fit inside the case.
Glue the thinner piece to the thicker piece, and leave it in the vice with the c clamps to support for 24 hours until the glue dries - then we can remove the c clamps and take it out of the vice.
The big white bottle on the left is the glue I used for sticking the 2 pieces together. The company that manufactured this glue is called TOA, pretty obvious...
After the glue has dried then we use a sharp pencil to sketch out roughly your design. After that we've used the cutting machine to cut out the shape, some parts are hard to cut so then we used the file to file out some parts that's smaller.

Gloves
Wear gloves all the time while working with resin and pigments (color) to prevent stain and the absorption of chemicals.
Face mask
This type of face mask protects you from chemical fumes.
Leveler
A leveler is very essential while working with resin because you need to know if the surface you're working on is on a level, if you are slightly off you will notice by time it hardens - it'll be pouring of to one side.
Cleaning alcohol
And paper towel will be very handy incase you accidentally spill resin on the surface, on yourself, or on any equipment. Alcohol and paper towel will get it straight off.
Plastic spatula
Plastic spatula are used for mixing resin and pigment. Plus they are reusable and really good.
Resin pigments
good quality pigments are best to use.
Measuring jugs
Different sizes of measuring jugs are good because you can make variety size designs. It's better than using plastic cups and then throwing them away.
The Epoxy glass resin's got a very beautiful viscosity to it. Good for making glass like designs
I have washed my microbit holder because we were going to spray paint. When you spray paint we cannot have any bits of dust covering the design because it will make the design feel bumpy instead of smooth and will make shadows.
[[I've sanded my microbit case but didn't have enough time to finish sanding and make it really smooth]]
While spray painting we need to be careful not to spray on the same place to often or else it'll create drips.
Before we apply colors we usually spray something called 'primer' it's got a grey color. Applying primer before spray painting helps to ensure that your spray paint will have an even finish and smooth out blemishes. Otherwise, you may need several coats of spray paint to get unchanging coverage. There are multiple of colors to choose from, when trying to make orange we do not use only the orange spray paint maybe we can use a little bit of white paint, red paint, and maybe yellow paint to get your desired shade of orange.
What will happen when you stay in the spray booth for too long without a mask?
🥩
If you do not have the correct type of mask that protects you from the paint fume and you stay in there for a very long time you'll get mummified like this gecko! - I think it forgot it's mask.
Masks
The mask in the picture isn't like the normal masks you wear when you have a cold. It is intentionally made for protecting paint fumes but only for a short period of time since it is not very effective.
If the gecko brought a (good quality) mask it would've lived :/
The photo at the top is me spray painting my base color (white) on the primer in the spray booth. I don't think I'm going to be able to finish spray painting in time.
Pink and Grey
White and Yellow
Gold
Sometimes the color of the can's lid and the color inside doesn't matches or the lid is missing so there's always a label below showing the paint and name of the color. The two brands of spray paint I'm using are KOBE acrylic lacquer spray paint and WIN Aerosol spray paint. There are 2 techniques I use while spray painting which is spray paint from high above so that there isn't too much paint I usually use this skill when spray painting the top surface so that not too much paint goes on and destroys the whole thing, the other skill is to press the nozzle a lot of times because if you just hold the nozzle it'll cause the paint to drip due to the very wet surface.
In the photo above is me spraying grey on top of the dried white paint. The photos of the spray cans on top is the colors I am using.
I've sprayed a lot of colors on which is causing it to blend a bit it's a good thing thoug because it'll look smoother, but the feel is not a smooth...
When I finished I realized there was gold so I ended up adding little bits of gold paint around the edge of my Micro:bit holder. I liked the fact that my colors looks really smooth and there are lots of colors that go together well, since I think that if the colors are contrasting then it wouldn't look as pretty. There are things I can improve on like finishing work in time / work faster and preparing possible colors becuase in the spray booth they dont have the exact colors we need. I think I wouldn't have time to finish the bottom part of my Micro:bit holder. What I have left to do is put the Micro:bit in the Micro:bit case and place it in the holder I made.
Overall I think my work is good.. ヾ(⌐■_■)ノ♪
