Training is similar to the current day education system, however it is much more regulated. Both online and in person schooling is offered, and the units/timeline is exactly the same - that way, if one misses a day due to minor illness or other minor setbacks, they aren’t completely behind. Every 2 months or so, a week is dedicated to “catching up” and helping students who have fallen behind understand concepts better, and retake any assignments (for those who are caught up, it is a week off). There is no grading scale, and rather assignments are feedback based with the responsibility on the Educational Manager to inform a student that they need improvement.
Once students feel they have found their favorite subject (relating to a possible career), they enter a route of coursework that contains more classes of that subject.
Usually determined in grade 9, and many switch around. No defined age that one graduates, more so based on an individual’s learning abilities, and how many times they switch into and out of a certain career pathway. Based on a teacher’s evaluation, they are allowed to move onto college, where students will learn more technical information about their future career.
The Clearance Section at Macy’s is home to the prestigious University of Closing a Sale (commonly known as UCS).
Students are educated on topics including sales, marketing, management and other jobs related to the ongoings of a Macy’s store. Students are also required to take classes outside of the business side of Macy’s, and possibly explore the artistic side- such as making clothes or formulating fragrances.
The main goal of schooling at Macy’s clearance section is to grow individuals that are able to (in the future) join the workplace with not only basic competence, but also a love for whichever career they choose.

Karen Watch
This class is focused on how to treat, handle, and "care for" the Karens that overpower the other employees on the staff.
Formulating Fragrances
Our master scent makers dedicate their time to pass on the skills they've learned to students who also have a nose for a good scent.
Clothing Design
Fashion designers from top brands speak to our students, and give them tips on not only design, but actually making and creating clothes. Different types of stitches, fabrics and more are taught.
The majority of what is learned in schooling is related to a career in the real world of Macy's Clearance Section. After high school, there is optional additional schooling at universities in the area. Class Managers teach through interactive projects that focus on how well individual students understand the material being taught to them. Students start out in classes such as basic English and math and are encouraged to start thinking about their future careers in 6th-8th grade. As mentioned previously, there are different routes students can take based on what they want as their career, and they can switch out into other routes if they decide that they prefer another career. Multiple types of classes are offered and it is required for students to take electives (such as Clothing Design and Formulating Fragrances).
Class sizes will be between 10-15 kids, and the days will be 5 hours long, 9 am to 2 pm for all grade levels besides college.
