Teaching with technology philosophy
As an educator, I believe it is my responsibility to guide students on how to properly acquire, use, and evaluate technology. I will make sure my students are well versed in the negatives and positives that come from the internet. I will teach them how to properly use it and let them know what happening on their devices is. By promoting responsible technology use, I aim to empower my students to be mindful and successful learners while using technology.
As an educator, I believe it is important to use the ISTE standards when using technology in the classroom. These standards will help me guide the use of technology in ways that support learning and teaching while also preparing my students for the real world. I would like my students to become confident and responsible users of technology and ISTE standards are a great tool to make that happen.
The UDL Guidelines offer a strong framework for teaching to all learners especially when using technology. The three areas, engagement, representation, and action and expression will help me plan lessons that are flexible and meaningful. With these guidelines, I can better support different interests, learning styles, and expression styles. I plan to use the UDL Guidelines to make learning more accessible and effective for all students while using technology.
