Send submissions to crest@student.oprfhs.org:
Photos - ideally well lit, cropped, and 300 DPI (see below for more information)
Written pieces - In a Google doc
→ Hard copies - Drop them off in Room 3139; however, we cannot return original submissions :(
As many as you like! (Within reason – we once had a student submit 70 photos in one email.)
We generally cap published pieces at 3 total visuals or written works per student, but we may make exceptions. (:
DPI stands for digital pixels per inch. 300 DPI basically translates to high resolution. If you are able to, please convert visuals to 300 DPI using a photo editing tool like Photoshop before submitting. (Don't worry if you can't – we double check all visuals beforehand)
Yearly at the end of spring semester! The physical magazine is available for free* in May of each school year in both the school bookstore and English/arts classrooms. If you are a graduating senior who has not received a copy of the magazine, you may go to room 3139 to be given one.
*Any price listed on the book is purely a gimmick, please do not pay for your copy of Crest. Please do not make students pay or spread the misinformation that they need to pay. Crest is free for the students, staff, and families of OPRFHS.
No pieces submitted after March 20th, 2025 will be considered for the physical book. If submitting after March 20th, please understand it is unlikely your work will be published digitally.
Due to the volume of submissions we receive, we cannot inform each student if their pieces were accepted. Digital submissions are reviewed and then published on the website on a rolling basis. When the physical book is distributed at the end of the year, you will see if your piece was published in Crest!
Currently, we only take submissions sent through a student email address that includes a student ID number and full name. If you would like your piece to be published under your initials or a different name, please add something like this to your submission email:
"I'm requesting that [NAME/INITIALS TO BE PRINTED BESIDE PIECE] be printed instead."
Note: Crest encourages all students to submit work under their legal name to help with future recognition. However, as explained above, this is not strictly required.
