Media Jam
Naomi Williams - Photographer (Wed 6th)
I found this inspirational as I have always somewhat enjoyed events that happen. And the fact that she was a photographer was interesting to me as when I was young I had a strong interest in taking photos but never knew why, animals, tall buildings, landscapes.
Raphel Acache - Ilustrator/Video Editor (Wed 6th)
As this year I have started and enjoyed a creative course. This talk spoke to me (literally). The various tasks I have had to manage and not received any feedback from to improve the work has been annoying.
Aaron Morley - Product Manager (Thur 7th)
I found this partially inspirational as I have always had a strong interest in most genre's of games in various medium's so to be a producer of these is fascinating.
I think everyone is going to go with the typical "future" vision, so I am instead going to do the advancement of an item that has already been produced. With a new feature that will change some portion of our lives.
I looked at this because it made me think of unique designs that have a very interpretive meaning. Giving clients their own thoughts on what they think it means.
I could also technological improvements in automotive or construction industry's.

Automotive News. (2023). Emerging Technologies. [online] Available at: https://www.autonews.com/technology/auto-industrys-innovative-technologies-2023.
I looked at this to find out previous innovations in the automotive industry, to guess at what could be for the future. This page no longer exists which is epic.
New Atlas. (2024). Winged cargo ship saves three tonnes of fuel per day on first voyage. [online] Available at: https://newatlas.com/environment/wings-cargo-ship-efficiency/ [Accessed 20 Mar. 2024].
I found this interesting because it combines transport and power, but uses it to boost the efficiency. While it might not be a thing of the future it is an interesting use case that is only recant
I didn't end up using any of this, but it was nice to think about potential idea's. I choose all these things because I have some curiosity about all the industry above. However I ended up choosing marketing as it better relates to the course and gives me more skills to learn.
This one feels space exploration like
I like this font because it literally feels like back to the future

I looked at this because I considered automotive brand, and wanted to know the data on it.
I like the warm embrace of the light, I don't care for the shape of the design. However it fits the space nicely.

I looked at NameSnack. (n.d.). Innovative Business Names + Free Logos. [online] Available at: https://www.namesnack.com/guides/innovative-business-names [Accessed 5 Apr. 2024] to find potential names for my brand. I want to include the brand name in the logo.
These words took the literal definition of future so I had to expand it a bit to other keywords.
I then found "Omniitive" which dictionary.com (2018). Dictionary.com - The world’s favorite online dictionary! [online] Dictionary.com. Available at: https://www.dictionary.com/browse [Accessed 5 Apr. 2024]. couldn't find a meaning to. The word sounds cool and like something in the next decade which is what I am after. I might use some version of this word
Anon, (n.d.). About | Design & Development | Studio Seventeen Ltd. [online] Available at: https://www.studioseventeen.co.uk/about/ [Accessed 22 Apr. 2024] . I got in touch with this company to help explain how to market a marketing company. As of 29th of april I have not heard back from them. As of 2nd of may I still haven't heared anything back.

I made a survey to get more information about people's preferences with brand's, advertisements and colours
As of 26/04 14:46 I have received 10 responses. I am hoping to receive at least 13 to get a wider range of information. I am going to achieve this by sending it to people outside of college.
As of 29/04 10:30 I have received 15 responces, which is more then plenty.
I used Coolors.co. (2015). Coolors.co. [online] Available at: https://coolors.co [Accessed 24 Apr. 2024] to get my swatches for my survey
I now have 16 responses as of 01/05 15:51 after closing the form. With more responses there is a broader range of information to be gathered, however knowing that my audience was businesses, I should of found a way to get businesses to fill it out.
David explained to me my question was too vague and people will have just put a random answer. I however feel that most people understand this question. But I could of been more specific to get more useful information.
Knowing this I can choose between blue and orange. Which mixed makes green which I might do also. This fit well with the colour phycology research that I did.
Knowing this I understand that people aren't bothered too much by letters. However my brand's market is businesses not people. Ultimatly I decided to do this question as it shows peoples opinion towards traditional forms of advertising, that some businesses still use.
1 is tiktok, 7 is youtube shorts. Knowing this split desission makes deciding difficult. Doing both requires more work to be put in. However if I compare the demographics, mostly younger audience prefer tiktok whereas an older audience prefer shorts. For this question I should have offered another option to get better results for people in the middle.
1 is lots and 8 is not very. I really can't understand what made me ask this question. I could relate it to marketing by thinking of offers to businesses based on certain days. But that would feel less professional and more personal which isn't what digital marketing should be.
1 is amount of locations and 5 is consistency. Seeing this I understand that people care more about the brand being consistent then the distance to the shop. So people might be willing to travel far for a good consistent brand. However this question wasn't that helpful as my brand is digital marketing which often won't require anyone to travel anywhere. As content will be sent via email, social media and various other platforms.
I reached out to adtrak for more information at hello@adtrack.co.uk on 3rd of may, hoping to hear their reply shortly. I had to re-send on 8th may because there's no c in adtrak. As of the 17th of may I haven't heard back still
I also looked at colour phycology which could give me more detailed information's to how people think about colours. The colour of the brand sets the mood and personality of the brand. (2014). Color Psychology Of Brands: An Infographic. [online] Praxent. Available at: https://praxent.com/blog/color-psychology-brands-infographic [Accessed 3 May 2024].
Looka (2018). Free Logo Maker & Intelligent Brand Designer. [online] Looka. Available at: https://looka.com [Accessed 8 May 2024].
I used this to generate potential ideas
I then used van Braam, H. (2017). The psychology of colors in marketing and branding - color psychology. [online] Color Psychology. Available at: https://www.colorpsychology.org/blog/color-psychology-marketing/ [Accessed 8 May 2024] to find the colours that would match together. I will need to use dark text as all colours don't match well with light text
Both Youtube Shorts and Tiktok use 9:16 aspect ratio and 1080x1920p resolution for the best looking results. I can use this towards a potential social media post for my fmp.
According to Teamnerdsdigital (2024). What Are Standard Billboard Sizes and How Do They Impact Visibility? [online] Mobile Billboard Advertising. Available at: https://bulldogbillboards.com/standard-billboard-sizes/ [Accessed 9 May 2024].10 feet by 22 feet is average (304 cm's x 670)
I have made a form to see what people think about my several logo's.
The most unique option is split between 1 & 2. Which is still showing the most positive opinion towards #2 which is important in the age of such crowded marketing.
3/4 responses say #2 looks most formal. Which is perfect as my business is a business to business market.
I have created a survey based on my 6 designs and have gotten 4 responses as of 15/05 14:27. Will the results being that most people like option 2. I have a feeling that it looks close to what people are use to in terms of logos, as it is friendly and relates to the brand.
And strong dislike towards #3 my initial thoughts is because it looks outdated, and they don't enjoy the white/blue fade. I can use this towards the final decision of the colours of my brand logo.
In order to find out how a website is usually layed out I consulted this website of many best marketing agency's websites.
Eveleigh, S. (2020). The UK’s 30 Best Marketing Agencies (Updated for 2020). [online] Gripped. Available at: https://gripped.io/digital-marketing-strategy/top-marketing-agencies-uk/ [Accessed 5 May 2024].
For most marketing agency's I noticed that most of the text was on the right side, being either a slogan or a quote. Some however had the middle with big and bold text. Secondly I noticed there was always a contact button at the top right of the page however it was not always called "contact us". It could be "get in touch", "send a message" "book an appointment". This information will be helpful to me when I create my website.
