The exhibition will involve a giant arc made up of storyboards,
with each one consisting of its own arc of frames. Participants will construct and attempt to arrange these storyboard arcs into the correct sequence. They will receive the solution and write feedback about what they believe the storyboard was communicating about burnout and how effective or clear it was. The purpose of this exhibition is to engage with the connection between my project
and the narrative arc while also acquiring feedback about the animations’ clarity.
To prepare for the G.UTS exhibition, I began mapping out on a document how the storyboard arches might make the big arch. I also figured out the scale of this in the actual exhibition space being used. This was done through photoshopping A3 pieces of paper around the space, treating each A3 piece as one of the storyboard arches. I also cut up each of the frames for each storyboard and printed out a small version of each storyboard for an answer sheet to each cut up storyboard that will be put in order.
During the exihibition process, most aspects were carried out as expected. However, there were some parts that didn't go as predicted, which is explained further in the critical reflection (below). The exhibition was mostly successful in helping me obtain feedback on the communication of the my storyboard ideas. It also was pivotal in developing the concept of the project further.
The exhibition produced written feedback on the back of each storyboard solution sheet. Although some feedback was insightful with deducing how effective the storyboards were, other feedback fell short as there was very little response. This is discussed further in the critical reflection below. The feedback will be utilised to improve the communication and design of each storyboard.
