The VEX Robotics team recently competed at Fitzgerald High School College and Career Academy. Teams 383H and 383R made it to the finals, and placed second in the overall tournament. Team 383H won the Design Award, which is given to the team with the best documentation of the engineering design process. Because they placed 2nd in the skills portion of the competition, team 383H was invited to compete at the state championship, which will take place in February at Ola High School. Team 383M won the Sportsmanship Award, which is given to the team that demonstrates the most respect and sportsmanship towards other teams.
VEX Robotics is an afterschool competitive extracurricular where teams build robots that score points during matches against other teams while playing a game.
The new game is revealed every year at the end of the World Championships, which take place in Dallas, Texas. The robot must be able to score points while being driven and while running autonomously. Students interested in joining VEX Robotics should see Dr. North or Mrs. Croft at the beginning of next school year.
