Over the past year, Lowndes High School’s TSA chapter has continued to foster enthusiasm in technology education among the students of LHS. At the 2023 GATSA State Leadership Conference, LHS TSA placed 4th overall chapter and placed in the top ten schools in the state in eighteen different events, some of which included cybersecurity, software development, and music production.

LHS TSA also placed first in coding and engineering design, second in CAD architecture, chapter team, outstanding student, prepared presentation, and webmaster, and third in video game design. This lead to us going to Nationals in Louisville, KY in which we placed in the Top Ten in three events. The students of Lowndes High TSA have competed in a cardboard boat race at the Fall Leadership Conference in Jekyll Island, Georgia, and have won spirit sticks for displaying respect towards the principles of TSA and their fellow GATSA members alongside pride for their chapter. In addition to this, LHS TSA competed in the VEX Robotics competition last year.

In VEX Robotics, teams of students must work together to build a robot that can play a game that involves scoring game elements, such as balls or discs, into goals. Last year, teams 383F and 383T from LHS qualified for the Georgia VEX V5 State Championship in McDonough, Georgia. In a new collaboration with AFJROTC, team 383F made it to VEX Nationals for the first time in Dallas, TX and received 14th overall.
