Each summer, cadets, instructors, and military members actively serving head to Lost Lake Boy Scouts camp for 5 days of leadership development, physical stress, joint camaraderie, competition, and most importantly, fun! This is the Joint Cadet Leadership Course, 15 cadets from North Pole, West Valley, and Lathrop volunteer to take this course during the summer. It is offered to incoming freshmen and all returning cadets. The goal of this camp is to build leadership traits, self-confidence, resilience, and teamwork. Cadets get to visit military bases, take classes led by retired military members, engage with mentors who are active military members, learn about military history, and much more!
This might sound scary, but don't worry, this is not "boot camp"; you will probably not be yelled at and told to do pushups repeatedly.
