What is JROTC?
JROTC stands for Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps. It's a high school program that focuses on leadership, citizenship, and personal development, not military enlistment. It uses a military-inspired framework to teach students skills like communication, discipline, teamwork, and physical fitness, with the primary goal of "motivating young people to be better citizens".
Why Should I Join JROTC?
Joining JROTC can help you develop leadership skills, improve your academic performance, and become more physically fit, all while building your character and becoming a better citizen. The program can also open up scholarship and career opportunities, even if you do not plan to join the military.
How Do I Join?
To join JROTC, you must enroll in the program at a high school that offers it. The program is generally open to students in grades 9-12. Unlike joining the actual military, there is no service obligation for JROTC cadets.
Since cadets are high schoolers, we make efforts to grow their leadership for their future.
We learn important skills to prepare ourselves for life after high school.
Without the community, we would not be able to continue the program, so we like to give back to the people that make this possible.
We are more than just an organization, but a unit that strives together, and takes steps to build each other up.
