GirlsBuild observed that women are underrepresented in the STEM field. Our team employed virtual Zoom meetings for flexibility and split our team into Logistics and Public Relations for greater organization/structure. At our weekly Sunday meetings, members eagerly inputted their ideas on how to grow our team's impact. We decided to host a STEM immersion camp to encourage girls to pursue their interest in STEM and introduce them to its breadth of fields. After taking attendance, we had our Project Manager and then each division's co-directors provide updates. Then, divisions split up into breakout rooms to work on their individual agendas, come to a consensus on their different tasks, and delegate responsibilities. Some members worked on improving our website, while others made calculations concerning the budget. Even though the work was intense, members still enjoyed doing their tasks and learning along the way. Members were recruited from different STEM clubs and classes throughout the school.Â
