Civic Engagement 

In the area of civic engagement, Girls++ aims to provide representation and advocacy throughout our project. We will do so through the creativity and variety in our STEM workshop topics.

Firstly, Girls++ is a team with a great representation of diversity in a wide variety of fields, our experiences ranging from competitive programming to biology. Because of these experiences, we can offer a broad STEM curriculum at the PALS program, making sure to loop in the common thread of female representation in STEM. In addition, the inherent demographic variation of our team will enable our students to see the vast diversity in STEM. Furthermore, we will be leading our activities to encourage engagement of students so they gain confidence in their ability to collaborate and critically think. 

At the conclusion of our camp, we also hope to connect our students with girls with future STEM opportunities like STEMEd, SciGirls Connect, or GirlsBuild. This ensures that the momentum we build continues even after the program, and helps us advocate for new opportunities!
