Mission Statement

We’re G4EE, a diverse team of passionate girls from Granada Hills Charter High School, excited about bettering the world around us. G4EE’s mission is to fight for equality in engineering through hosting a beehive building event. Engineering is a field built upon different perspectives, but how can we represent everyone’s opinions with the startling lack of diversity?

GHCHS is a Title I school, meaning at least 40% of our students are from low-income families. Our students come from various socioeconomic statuses, genders, races, and more. Out of the 1200+ first-year high school students at GHCHS, we aim to target GHC school students from traditionally underrepresented demographics in the engineering fields.

We plan to host a one-day in-person event for middle and high schoolers identifying as female or non-binary individuals. Participants will be divided into groups and have the opportunity to plan, design, and build out a beehouse using tools such as TinkerCad, a CNC machine, machine shop tools, and mentor guidance.

G4EE is filled with committed, eager girls ready to address the knowledge and confidence gap in engineering!
