Why is art appreciation important ?
Art appreciation is extremely relevant for multiple reasons. It is a good way to understand the history behind the artwork, and the period from which the piece originated. Artists often reflect the problems that they face, and the issues of the society in their work.
Why is daily art appreciation important for our young artists?
Giving young artist an appreciation for art encourages exploration, self expression, logical thinking, self-esteem, imagination, and creativity. Early art experiences also teach kids to think openly, create new meaning, be more tolerant of others' differences, and gives them the courage to take risks.
How do we teach art appreciation in our virtual classroom?
Ask young artist to take a virtual tour of various online museums. Ask young artist to observe various artist works and analyze by answering the principals of art appreciation essential questions provided from daily presentation slides of artist and their art pieces and art literacy books. Ask young artist to create original works of art. Then use what they learned in the lesson or activity to critique the artwork they see or created.
