Reading Teacher
I started teaching at Laurel Bay Schools in 1986. I help students become better readers. I believe being a good reader is an important life skill. Currently I work with teachers to help students improve their reading skills to help with academic success. Being a good reader supports cognitive development, and improves language skills, imagination, and creativity. My goal when teaching reading skills to students is to increase their confidence with their academics and to cultivate a lifetime love of reading. For students who see me for intervention, I use the SLI Program (Strategic Literacy Invention) for grades 3-5, and the Read 180 Program for grades 6-8.
If you have any concerns or questions about your child’s reading, you can call the school at 843-466-7100 or email me at Teresa.Manning@dodea.edu
