Middle School Summative Assessments May 5-9.
Introduction
Dear Parents,
We are excited to share that this year in Grade 7 Social Studies, our students will embark on a chronological exploration of the human experience in the United States, from pre-Columbian times to the Civil War. This course is designed to weave together geography, economics, social dynamics, and political trends, providing a comprehensive understanding of our nation’s history. Divided into eight Key Ideas, our curriculum will highlight significant people, events, and places that have shaped the United States. We aim to help students make meaningful connections across time, such as linking the historical contexts of indentured servitude and slavery to contemporary issues like human trafficking and immigration. This approach encourages informed action and civic engagement among our students. We look forward to an engaging year filled with discovery and critical thinking. Thank you for your support as we guide our students through this important journey!
Warm regards,
Mrs. Carter-Lacey
