2nd Quarter Curriculum Highlights📚
8th grade:A six-week unit that asks students to look at historical struggles for freedom and consider the impact that social upheaval has on the individual. Students develop speaking and listening skills and writing skills while constructing their own understanding and informing others about the relationship between societal and personal change.
7th grade: A six-week unit that engages students in collaboration with peers to apply speaking and listening skills and evaluate information and construct meaning about the relationship between people and nature and what it takes to survive in the wild places.
6th grade:This six-week unit showcases CCRSL-aligned best practices to help develop reading, listening, collaborative discussion and informative writing skills as students study multi-cultural fables, folklore, myths and legends. Using print, audio, and video resources, students will focus on common themes and the relevance of this literature in our world today.
