Robotics

this is kronky.

A few days ago, our work on the Artemis mission ended. here I will show you and tell of the research that we slogged through.

The ARTIMES mission is NASA's plan on how to get to mars. The first step is to build a base on the moon where they can launch a ship from the moon to mars. They want to this because there is considerably less gravity. Then they can launch with ease and begin there space exploration.

Our first wrinkle in the project was to decide what problem to solve. We decided to solve the problem of water in space. As you well know there are other alternatives that were used on space ships and rockets, and even the ISS. Some of these alternatives are filtering sweat and pee, and any other water. But we had determine how solve this on mars.

Somehow we needed to get water and supplies for a mission. Look at its surface, no water on said surface. (Notice how I said surface.)

After lots of failed ideas, we finally found an idea that would work. But it had nothing to do with space ships or the ISS. My teacher told me there was water under the surface of mars. So I decided to work on this idea. First i took apart the robot that we had used in the past and i started the new one. The next day my partner came to school, so i caught him and we began work on a new robot. First i had to 3d print a drill for the robot. Then i had to i built from there.

We decided to drill for the ice under the surface of mars. So we built a robot and duck taped the small drill onto the robot. If this were an actual mars robot it would have drilled to ice, and sucked it up like your average shop-vac. Then it would transfer the ice to an unseen compartment and bring it back to base where it would be melted and filtered.

According to NASA there is ice under the surface of mars, some of the ice as close to the surface as 2.5 cm below the surface.
