decline in memory or other thinking skills
I can make a website game easily accessible to everyone, more specifically elders who have Dementia/Alzheimers, and/or hands-on game for those who can't access the website, or who are more comfortable with hands-on rather than website.
It's known that cognitive puzzle games help reduce the risk of dementia, so this game can be helpful to them.
creating a game accessible to everyone and that is challenging to the brain
no limits, age restrictions or cost
around 50 million in the world are diagnosed with Dementia
nearly 10 million people per year are diagnosed with Dementia
the age it affects general are those of 60 years old or older
only about 9% of young people get affected with Dementia early in their life
"In the next 30 years, the number of people with dementia is expected to triple..." ~ WHO, Dr. Tedros
My Grandmother died of Dementia and I felt bad that there was no cure or anything that I could've done to prevent it. So I want to create something unique, fun, but challenging, and effective so that there aren't any other people who die the way my Grandmother did.
swelling and tenderness of one or more of a person's joint
I can turn the website game into a hands-on game - more of a puzzle. It will be accessible to everyone, but my target audience will be those who have or who are at risk of Arthritis.
Arthritis is known to be a painful life-long disease, so I want to create a game that can force one to use their muscles constantly. By putting the pieces together (in the game), it can reduce stress and help exercise the muscles.
creating a type of puzzle game that helps exercise the muscles and challenges the brain
no limits, age restrictions, or costs
there are more than 3 million US cases per year
about 54 million adults are affected in the US
people affected with Arthritis at ages 18 to 44 years, 7.1%
people affected with Arthritis at ages 45 to 64 years, 29.3%
people affected with Arthritis at ages 65 years or older, 49.6%
the age it affects general are those of 60 years old or older
more common in women than in men
by 2040, an estimated 78 million (26%) US adults aged 18 years or older are projected to have Arthritis
There is no cure and it's a very painful disease. So I want to at least create a game that can help prevent Arthritis, and can help those who are already affected with it so it doesn't continue to be painful for their joints.
My Grandmother also had Arthritis, on top of Dementia, and suffered for 40 years battling it. It was very painful to watch her lose her memories as well scream in pain because of her joints. So I want to create a game that can be helpful to those who have Arthritis and/or Dementia so there aren't as many people who are affected with this disease like my Grandmother.
