9/25 - Today we watched CNN10 and discussed world/local events. We reviewed this past week's work and worked on Unit 2 notes. We looked at the yellow atlas some more and began our global grid battleship game.

9/23 - Today we watched CNN10 and discussed world/local events. We worked on Unit 2 notes and examined the yellow book atlas. We setup battleship for our global grid and gave some current event time. For tomorrow, please follow the items on the stream/classwork tab in order. And all other items due Thursday am like normal.

1. Latitude Lines – runs east – west around the globe
a. Equator – 0 degrees latitude – halfway between N/S Pole

a. Prime Meridian – 0 degrees longitude – runs from North
Pole to South Pole through Greenwich, England.

9/22 - Today we watched CNN10 and discussed local/world events. We worked on Unit 2 notes after giving the notebooks back and gave in class doc time. We checked out the tsunami video and began prepping for the battleship game.

9/19 - Today we watched CNN10 and discussed local/world events. We collected Unit 1 notes plus the All About Me page and worked on the red book. We did two Ed Puzzles with the focus on next week's current events and did a Blooket on Wonders of the World. Have a great weekend!
9/18 - Today we watched CNN10 and discussed world/local events. We finished Unit 1 notes with the focus on global problems/solutions and went over the notebook due tomorrow. We reviewed the work due this am and introduced the next week's work. We finished with a POV of the Eiffel Tower..

9/17 - Today we watched CNN10 and discussed world/local events. We went over the ce due this am and introduced next week's ce. We gave time to work on items due tomorrow and did our Constitution Day work including reviewing the Preamble, Bill of Rights, checked out a video on it, and gave an opportunity to play the branches of power game. All work due tomorrow by 6am.
9/16 - Today we watched CNN10 and discussed world/local events. We introduced the partner red book and gave time for that. We then worked on Unit1 notes below, discussed law of supply and demand, and gave time for current event topics. We also checked out Spaceship Earth to see how the scientists may investigate things from the past/future. CE due tomorrow by 6am
3. Economists – study how people produce, distribute, and consume goods and services.
4. Anthropologists – study how cultures develop among humans. They examine culture, social customs, and beliefs and how they change over time.
5. Sociologists – explore human societies and how humans organize themselves in groups. They study social groups, social classes, and group behavior.
6. All of these scientists study the human condition and how people respond to the problems they face.

9/15 - Today we watched CNN10 and discussed world/local events. We introduced the extra credit due in January and gave in class doc time. We worked on Unit 1 notes below and talked about the push/pull factors on why there are here. We also listed out the items they need in their notebook due Friday.

9/11 - Today we reviewed all of the homework due this am and introduced next week's work. We looked at the 9/11 Memorial and Reflecting Pool as well as a video about the actual day itself. We finished with a portion of today's CNN10.
9/10 - Today we watched CNN10 and discussed local/world events. We examined the yellow atlas pages up to 49 and went over current event submissions. We also worked on Unit 1 notes below - 1st part of letter D. We finished with time for homework due tomorrow and reviewed who owes what - All homework due tomorrow by 6am.

We looked at the population clock and red book pages on satellites, types of maps, and population. We finished with in class doc time and made sure everyone had a ce topic due tomorrow.
9/8 - Today we watched CNN10 and discussed world/local events. We examined the yellow atlas and discussed elevation maps. We continued on the powerpoint and looked at hemispheres and distortion on maps. We continued on notes with section C and focussed on rural/urban/suburban areas. We also gave in class doc time.

We examined a passport and finished with an Ed Puzzle on CN Tower to help for next week's current event. Have a great weekend.

9/3 - Today we watched CNN10 and discussed local/world events. We reviewed everyone's ce submissions and introduced next weeks items on Canada. We looked at power point 7-12, red book maps and latitude/longitude/hemispheres, and examined the first part of the terrorism unit. Please find out airport security information and bring headphones tomorrow. Don't forget - IXL S1/Q-H-IN all #1 due tomorrow by 6am.
9/2 - Today we watched CNN10 and discussed local/world events. We reviewed ce submissions and gave time to work on those for tomorrow at 6am. We examined the red book atlas pages and introduced the terrorism unit starting tomorrow. We also looked at the powerpoint pages 2-6. Finally, those done ce worked on in class doc. Don't forget to ask about road maps and 9/11 location tonight!
8/28 - Today we watched CNN10 and discussed local/world events. We set up Mr. Help Geo notebook and drew the world in their image. We introduced current events and helped pick topics that are age appropriate and where to find them. We also reviewed IXL/Quizizz/Hwk doc/In Class doc and what is expected. Have a great and log weekend!
8/27 - Today we reviewed how we start each class, entered the homework into assignment books, went over what to bring to each class, and practiced getting into Ed Puzzle and Quizizz. Everyone took the SLO test and began IXL S1 if time permitted. We also passed out the All About Me page and played 6th grade Bingo. Tomorrow we will review current events and how to do them, as well as look at our red books and the atlas we use.
8/26 - Tomorrow we get back to normal - everyone should be into GC, be able to get to their Quizizz, into Ed Puzzles, IXL, and do the SLO assessment in class tomorrow. It will make more sense after we complete it.
8/25 - Great job in everyone's first day! We got everyone into GC and briefly went over the assignments and point values. Thanks to everyone who brought their notebooks and folders on Day #1.Tomorrow is a Day #2 and HR all day.
