Welcome to my Geography and World Cultures Class website! Bear Essentials - Respect/Responsibility/Safety
Please use this website to find homework, some information about me, final project assignment, the school district calendar, and the day/bell schedule.
We will be examining all parts of geography, especially concentrating on the Western Hemisphere. We will also tackle the five themes and how they all fit with the countries in the hemisphere as well.
Your grade will come from current events, end of unit assessments, class participation, map and skills packets, as well as the final project. Please be proactive if you miss class to find out what was missed by following along on this website and via google classroom.

Grading Procedures:
What type of assessments will be used in the determination of the marking period grade?
The Social Studies teachers will use many types of assessments to develop the student’s grade. These include, but aren’t limited to current events, end of unit tests, class participation, packet completion, and a culminating activity.
Briefly describe your homework procedures:
The Social Studies teachers will provide dates for when homework is due. The dates for current events will be established at the beginning of each semester. The Geography packets and Map Skills will be due on the same day each week. The culminating activity will be done in class.
Briefly describe your make-up/late work policies:
The Social Studies teachers will provide due dates for make-up work to be handed in. These will normally be within the first three days back to school. The Social Studies teachers will accept late work. However, each day the work is late loses 20% of the grade. After three days late, the assignment will be considered a zero.
Will you be offering extra credit?
The Social Studies teachers may offer extra credit at times during the course. It may be offered on tests or worked into every day class.
