Mr. Hagmann's Geography and World Cultures Class
Welcome to my Geography and World Cultures Class website! Bear Essentials - Respect/Responsibility/Safety
Please use this website to find homework, some information about me, final project assignment, the school district calendar, and the day/bell schedule.
We will be examining all parts of geography, especially concentrating on the Western Hemisphere. We will also tackle the five themes and how they all fit with the countries in the hemisphere as well.
Your grade will come from current events, end of unit assessments, class participation, map and skills packets, as well as the final project. Please be proactive if you miss class to find out what was missed by following along on this website and via google classroom.

Grading Procedures:
What type of assessments will be used in the determination of the marking period grade?
The Social Studies teachers will use many types of assessments to develop the student’s grade. These include, but aren’t limited to current events, end of unit tests, class participation, packet completion, and a culminating activity.
Briefly describe your homework procedures:
The Social Studies teachers will provide dates for when homework is due. The dates for current events will be established at the beginning of each semester. The Geography packets and Map Skills will be due on the same day each week. The culminating activity will be done in class.
Briefly describe your make-up/late work policies:
The Social Studies teachers will provide due dates for make-up work to be handed in. These will normally be within the first three days back to school. The Social Studies teachers will accept late work. However, each day the work is late loses 20% of the grade. After three days late, the assignment will be considered a zero.
Will you be offering extra credit?
The Social Studies teachers may offer extra credit at times during the course. It may be offered on tests or worked into every day class.
MSE UPDATED PARENT ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL GUIDELINES TO IMPROVE SAFETY FOR THE 2023-24 SCHOOL YEAR
MSE FAMILIES PLEASE FOLLOW THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES FOR MORNING DROP OFF AND AFTERNOON PICKUP.
SAFETY CONCERN: ALL CARS MUST TURN RIGHT ONTO 73 BETWEEN 7:10 AM - 7:35 AM and 2:30 PM to 2:50 PM WHEN EXITING OUR FACILITY When dropping off and picking up students, please use the entire length of the sidewalk. This greatly expedites the process. Those who wait until they pull up to the direct front of the school causes a delay in the transition process. Should a student require extra time to get in or out of the car, please pull to the very front of the sidewalk to allow other cars to pass.
Morning drop off Guidelines-
• All students should be dropped off between 7:15 am -7:30 am to the front loop.
• Students dropped off and not in their Homeroom after 7:35 AM will be considered late.
Afternoon Pick up Guidelines- PLEASE do the best you can to pick up your child in the time window below based on grade level. Your efforts help us manage traffic and keep the students safe. Please note that students are dismissed by grade level. Please have oldest grade level dismiss with the youngest student in the vehicle.
• Please don’t pull into our front loop before 2:20 pm. A handful of cars is not a concern but if the front loop is full prior to this we have to end 10th period early to start dismissal because our buses can’t get in the lot.
• Ending 10th period early takes some of our student’s remediation, performance groups, clubs, and advisory times so we hope to work together with our parent pick up families using the stagger below.
• We have learned that some of our students ask their ride to come a little later so that they may have social time outside with their friends. This adds to the congestion in our parking loop and ask that you follow the assigned times.
• Please work with us and follow the guidelines below. With your cooperation we can improve wait times for families and safety for all.
2:25-2:35 pm 6th grade
2:35-2:45 pm 7th grade
2:45-2:55 pm 8th grade
ALL STUDENTS SHOULD BE PICKED UP BY 2:55PM.
Starting Sept 5, 2023, we plan to adjust these times once we can assess the car-line process. Be on the lookout for any changes should they occur.
