The Tree Wardens job is to oversee the removal and placement of shade trees according to future environmental happenings (ex global warming's effects). Their job is to adapt and anticipate in order to plant trees that will most benefit the city. In order to do so, for much of the time in office, the Tree Warden is researching online.
Pruning of trees for the safety and health of Northampton citizens.
Removal of trees that are unhealthy (dead or dying)
Finding planting sights for possible tree(s).
Planting new trees.
Writing grant proposals to the city government.
Researching environmental impacts on trees in the U.S.
Preparing budget presentations.
Inspecting contracted tree work.
