Providing guidance and support to help children to participate in and learn from lessons, projects and activities, while helping to maintain a safe and nurturing environment. Role model appropriate behavior by being polite, being positive, and using appropriate language.
Internships at JSS are hands-on with supporting facilitation of class lessons, specifically supporting learning abilities across the spectrum. You'll monitor children, help supervise classrooms and support teachers with lesson/activity facilitation.
1-on-1 support with students in reading, writing or math
Helping set up snacks for teachers
Leading students to activities (ex. specials, recess, bus time)
Support teachers with lesson prep or classroom organization
Support with school events (ex. Open House or Field Day)
