Spanning Easthampton and Northampton, Arcadia's diverse terrain (forest, meadows, grasslands, marsh, and wetlands) attracts an extraordinary variety of wildlife.
Visitors will also find a thriving population of wildflowers, thanks to the sanctuary's rich, loamy soil that's characteristic of the Connecticut River floodplain.

"Don’t be afraid to reach out to people for collaboration. I met with so many people outside of my immediate department and it allowed me to learn new skills and create amazing projects. Another piece of advice I have is don’t be afraid to try something new. It is intimidating at first but in the end you will be glad you did it. I had never written or submitted a grant narrative before and I was super nervous to get involved in one, but I did. I wrote a grant narrative and now I have that amazing experience and skill under my belt."(Intern, 2023)
