In this unit we learned about bases/acids. We learned that 0-6 is acids and 8> is bases. Acids are sour and rough while bases are slippery and soapy.
Acids
Sour taste
Rough feel
They react to metal and produce hydrogen gas
PH level of 0-6 while the normal PH level is 7
EXAMPLE: Vinegar
Bases
Bitter taste
Often feel slippery or soapy
PH level 8>
Generally do not react with metals, but neutralize acids
EXAMPLE: Soap or cleaning supplies
