My Favorite Things

My name is Rebeka Saldana, I’m a 6th grader in Mr. Hicks 5th period class. This is a series of my favorite things that I enjoy watching or visit whenever I’m able to. These people or things that I consider my favorites is because I feel comforted by them, if you want to put it in other words, I mean that when I’m sad or not feeling my very best, these things can help me feel better.

Both of my parents were born and raised in Mexico so when I get the chance to visit it’s a nice feeling. In my home we speak Spanish and some of the time when I go to the store I have to translate and it’s kind of annoying, although when I’m in Mexico most of the people that live there speak Spanish and makes me have an easier time when we are trying to enjoy our day. The sad thing is that I wasn’t born in Mexico I was born in Texas. By the time I was one my parents decided that we would go to Cancun for a small family vacation. I know you might think “Why is it your favorite if you probably can’t remember it” it’s a perfectly simple explanation, it was just me and my parents not my siblings, not my grandma no nobody. I know that it sounds selfish that I would say that but most of the time my parents can’t spend much time with me now that I’m older and they have their own occupations that they need to take care of my siblings. I understand it, but the majority of the time they are busy or must call of something. So that’s why one of my favorites is Cancun. My next favorite place is Austin, sometimes in nice warm weather means we can go to the beach. I enjoy going to the beach because it means playing with sand and the ocean, me and my siblings enjoy making sandcastles and burying each other with sand.

I really enjoy eating sweet stuff during the summer but one of my favorites is Ice cream. In my opinion chocolate ice cream is the best out of all of them, but if we don’t have chocolate ice cream, I would eat cookies & cream ice cream. Strawberries and mangos are the greatest fruit of all time. First, mangos are sweet and nice to eat in the summertime. And second, I love to eat strawberries with Nutella, it might not be the healthiest option but it’s one of my favorites.

One of the best actors to ever exist is Sofia Vergara, she is a Columbian actor who has been in many shows, interviews, and movies. Even though she does get hate because of her nationality she doesn’t care what anybody says about her. Priah Ferguson is another of my favorite actors she has a great personality and awesome acting skills. The last one would-be Sarah Hyland, she is in one of my favorite shows and is a kind human being. If you want proof, I watch the same show repeatedly because they are my comfort characters.

These are only a few of my favorite things but they are my main. It might be because of comfort or just because I miss them, but I enjoy having them in my life. They help me when I’m sick or feeling sad and make me and my family happy. I hope you enjoyed reading my essay about my favorite things.
