Math- Mrs. Starr-Burt
In math, there's honors and HAM classes; one's a year ahead. In HAM, We learned pi, volume, pythagorean theorem, financial literacy, transformations and many more. We use the program Edpuzzle, which is an assigned video with questions embedded in it. During the year, we also did extra credit problems on DELTAMATH, an online math program. at the end of the year, We did the mathematical part of the chicken coop. All of the measurements, conversions, etc.Β
Social Studies- Mrs. Stubbins
In social studies, we learned about maps, geography, colonization, religion, economics, government, and lots of other things. We had daily map tests, which helped us learned our different countries. Our End of Year project was on the three branches of government, which we learned about. You had to choose a branch, and make a metaphor that represent the government. I did a computer. π»π» The judicial brain is the computer brain, the executive is the screen, and the main branch the legislative is the power. THe electricity making sure the computer is running smoothly. we sometimes use class companion.

ELAR (Reading)- Mr. Wayment
In Elar, we drew monsters and animated them (Vector Art) during the beginning of the year. That's how we learned root words, along with some notebook entries. We learned poetry, figurative language, impromtu speaking, grammar, writing, and others. We often went to the library, checking out books and having class there. Before going to 6th grade, we were required to read "Hatchet", by Gary Paulsen. We wrote an essay on it. Mr. Wayment also made a homemade escape room on "hatchet" that was super fun.Β Our end of the year project, we read "the phantom tollbooth" out loud, and everyone had a part. We all also read a biography, and presented on our person. I did Laura Ingalls Wilder, the author of "Little House on the prarie".Β We do nearpods and peardecks in his class.
Science- Mr. Kelly
In science, the first thing we did was a paper airplane design contest.βοΈ I won the aesthetics competition. My plane was teal with fire designs. We learned about ecology, cells, matter, chemistry, earth, forces, and some more. We got to do a science fair, in which i did a project on fabric heating up. In Mr. Kelly's class, we do lots of gimkits, and we use class companion and Kessler labs, which are online Google slides you have to fill out.Β
