Now it's . . . 3D MODELS!!! 🤩😱🎉
Now it's . . . 3D MODELS!!! 🤩😱🎉
Just so you know, we will now be working in a program called sketchUp for Schools. It's like a 3d Program for education.
From left to right: 5 foot cube, 10 foot cube, 15 foot cube, and 20 foot cube.
The first things I made in SketchUp were these cubes! First, you use the rectangle tool to create a square. Then you use the pull tool to pull it up and make it 3D. After that you make more cubes each in bigger and bigger sizes.
Finally, you use the line tool and sign your name!
These are the same cubes, just stacked. With Casey on top!🙂
🏠 Simple House 🏠
This is my simple house! We used exact measurements and the tape measure tool to make sure it was a good size. Then we made windows, trim, door frame ,etc. The chimney, doorknob, and fancy window were extra. 🎉
Before adding textures to my house, I had to paint it.
It looks really hideous, but it helps later when I use textures. It helps separate different areas so we can differentiate when is being colored with what.
Voila!! MY textured simple house. THis was my simple house before I added A porchlight, and a keypad.
These were my extra things. I have a porchlight, and a number keypad.
This is the photo that I used to make my porchlight.
Starting In Blender
Now, we start using Blender. Blender is like a 3D program for animation. ❤️
This is what our houses look like in Blender.
Comparison
In SketchUp and Blender, we took the exact same images.
Then we took pictures of our houses with the "camera" in Blender. Then, the best part, at least in my opinion. 🥰
ANIMATION!!!
We animated our house to spin. First just 3 seconds, then 10. To do that we used the timeline and keyframed rotaion on the 'z' axis.
This is the quick, 3 second version of the spin. MAke sure to change the quality to 1080 in settings so you get detail!
Now, the 10 second one. 👍
We extended the time line from 90 (3 seconds) to 300 (10 seconds) and keyframed it back to its original position.
