Summary

In spring of 2023, Harvard University's women's lacrosse team ended their season with 8 wins out of 15 matches. These matches were against other various universities such as UMich, Brown, Cornell, and others. At the Ivy League 2023 Tournament, they played against UPenn and lost with a final score of 8-16. 

Important Rules 

1) Only one player in a goalie circle at any point in the game 

2) No touching the ball (with any body part) 

3) Player A can only 'check' player B if player B is in posession of the ball and is within 5 yards of player A

Jargon 

1) Lax: short for 'lacrosse' 

2) Rake: the action of placing the netted part of the lacrosse stick over the ball, and pulling back and under the ball in attempts to pick it up 

3) Cradling: the action of carefully swinging a lacrosse stick with a ball, in order to be able to run swiftly without losing posession of the ball

Biography 

John Tavares was born n Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. He originally played two sports, lacrosse and hockey, and then made the transition to playing only lacrosse in 2006. He attended the Mississauga local schools as a child. He has played for the Mississauga Tomahawks, the Generals, and the Buffalo Bandits. He holds the record for the most points in NLL history with 1,749 and also holds the record for the most goals scored in NLL history: 815. He is a four-time NLL champion and an NLL head coach.
