Huntington and Earthquake stories

Hunnington

On Wednesday night around 10 p.m, 53- year-old Janice Jones got a bullet fired through her leg. While eating pork chops in the back of her motor home, her dog, Tombo, knocked a 9 mm handgun off a seat. The handgun fired as it hit the floor on impact and shot Jones in the leg, while also hitting the side of the vehicle.

"It could've been worse", said Rye, "The bullet hit two inches from the gas tank."

Jones was taken into hospice care that night and treated for the shot. Jone's dog, Tombo was taken into animal care that same night. Workers discovered the dog was in bad care with Jones.  The dog seemed to be severely malnourished and had fresh cigarette burns on its forehead. Officers also discovered that Jones had expired license plates and didn't have a permit for the gun she owned.

"It could've done with a little less abuse and a little more pork chops," animal control officer Ngo said when talking about Tombo.

Ngo indicated that abuse charges would be filed against Jones.
