Term 2 Maths Progressions
Addition and Subtraction:
-Use place value partitioning to add and subtract 3-digit numbers.
-Round to estimate addition and subtraction problems with 3-digit numbers.
-Reverse subtraction and use a number line with numbers up to 3-digits.
-Use an equal additions strategy up to 3-digits.
-Use doubles and near -doubles of numbers up to 1,000,000.
Statistics and Probability
-Sort number results, use tally chart to count them and write the total number in a table.
-Read and interpret some data graphs including pictograms, strip graphs and column graphs.
-Show the chance of something happening as a probability compared to a total.
Week 1-6: Addition and Subtraction Students will be developing and using a variety of different strategies to solve addition and subtraction problems.
Week 7-11:Statistics/Probability
We will be looking at collecting, recording and interpreting data. Then students will be looking at the chance of something happening.
