This term we will be focusing on:
Week 1-2: Letter Writing: Students will practise writing letters to various audiences and learn about formal and informal writing.
Week 3-6: Report writing: Students will be creating reports on various topics and understand the importance of structure and language features when writing a report.
Week 7-11: Narratives: Students will be writing their very own myths & legends based on our Term 1 topic of "Beginings of Aotearoa".

All students will have a range of progressions based on their individual needs, which will include some of the following:
Y5 - Writing:
Plan writing using different planning tools that meet the purpose.
Use words and phrases that are specific to the topic and purpose of writing.
Y6 - Writing
Choose from different planning tools to meet the purpose.
Deliberately select specific vocabulary that is appropriate to the topic, purpose and learning area.
