During term 1 we will be learning about the beginning of Aotearoa.

We will be learning about:

• How the land of Aotearoa was formed while learning about tectonic plates. 

• What Aotearoa was like before people arrived.

• How early Māori arrived in Aotearoa and what life looked like for them.

• The early bird life of Aotearoa, and those that are now extinct.

This term we will be visiting Māngere Mountain in Week 4. We will also be engaging in practical learning experiences such as building waka, amongst other activities in the classroom to support our learning.
